He plays both regular fiddle and Hardanger Fiddle, and received his music education from the Norwegian Academy of Music. Vegar is an energetic, playful and versatile musician who plays a wide range of genres. In 2020 he was honored with the title, “Norwegian Folk Musician of the Year." Vegar also received the "Hilmarpris" for his work.
Vegar will teach a selection of Norwegian gammeldans, which became popular in the late 19th century and are still danced socially today. This genre includes the waltz, mazurka, reinlender, polka and hoppvals.
