Kenneth de Gala

Kenneth de Gala started playing Hardanger Fiddle in Norway at the age of ten. In the beginning, he studied regularly with Anne Svånaug Blengsdalen (from the Tinn/Kongsberg area) and learned tunes in the local "spelemannslag" in Kongsberg, where he was introduced to the traditions of both Numedal and Telemark. Kenneth has continued to learn tunes in these traditions from many other fiddlers including Øystein Ellefsen (Hovin/Flesberg) and Hauk Buen (Jondalen) in particular. He has also studied at the Folk Music Academy in Rauland. Through the years, Kenneth has developed a reputation for being a great dance fiddler.

Kenneth will teach a Hardanger Fiddle class.
